Founded in 2024, we’re a new business with a big history. Landscaping since 1999, the drive to incorporate water into the landscaping business started back in 2016 and, eight years later, we became accredited as Certified Aquascape Contractors; more about that below.
While Mountain Rock Pools focuses solely on creating Swim Ponds, Eco-Ponds and water gardens in and around Hobart, we partner with our sister company, Harrison Brothers, to provide a full-service landscaping experience for our clients.

A Tasmanian native, and operating in Hobart since 2001, he’s been a landscaper since 1999, started Harrison Bros. in 2018, and built his first Aquascape water feature in 2021. After trying different pond building methods and systems over the years, he knew he'd found the one for him.
Ben knows having a water feature is more than just a landscaping element. The natural waterhole on his property fostered family traditions with day trips and picnics. Now, with a swim pond closer to home, it’s become a focal point for visitors and completely reshaped the way he is designing and building the landscape around his own home.
Creating his own Swim Pond in 2021 on his property, just outside Hobart, has also provided a show case for future clients who want to see what is possible when building a pond.
Mountain Rock Pools was accredited with the globally recognised Certified Aquascape Contractor (CAC) certification in 2024. Through this, we assure our clients that our backyard ponds, streams and waterfalls maintain the integrity of the manufacturer warranties. We also keep up to date with new products and best practices – all while tapping into a network of skilled pond builders worldwide.
